The Hyundai i20 Launches in India – Review, Specifications, Mileage and Price.
Hyundai, the largest automobile giant in India, after Maruti Suzuki, has launched yet another car that catches the eye. The Hyundai I 20 looks more of an advanced version of Getz and an unfinished version of Verna, may sound like more of a cross breed but its got the best of both of them.
This car has three different options that one can select from, 1.2 Kappa – PL, 1.4 CRDi, 1.4 Gamma – PL (Automatic Transmission). This mid-segment machine comes with a package of 1200 – 1400 CC engines with 4 powerful cylinders and 16 valves packed in it. The fuel tank capacity is up to 45 liters, the front suspension of the car has Mc Pherson Struts with Gas Shock Absorber and the rear one has Couple Torsion Beam Axle with Gas shock absorber. This allows Hyundai I 20 to ride smoothly even on the bumpiest road conditions in India. All that needs to be done is just feel the power and drive smoothly without the worry of any jerks to yourself that you might have faced in other models. The value for money can also be judged by the mileage, even in terrible traffic jams, the Hyundai I 20 machine will give you at least 14 kmpl although a lot of people may say that it gives them 17 kmpl or 18 kmpl.
The top end version of Hyundai I 20 (i20 Asta) has many features that most of the sedan cars provide. It has a beautiful dash board that is designed to accommodate even the size of a travel bag. The music system is provided by the company which has its display on the sleek dashboard and the option of USB next to the cigarette lighter. The controls of your music system are on your steering, so you do not have to take the pain to find a remote or to reach for the music system while driving. The AC unit with climate control needs only a temperature and does the rest of the job. The smart key of the Hyundai I 20 is also very impressive as the remote controlled central locking has a key inside it and pops open with the press of a button.
The Hyundai i 20 has a power steering, power windows and controls on the right hand rest of the driver’s door which enables you to operate the power windows and lock them if needed. Hyundai I 20 allows to close both the side mirrors of the car without even reaching out to them, all that needs to be done is press a button. Although Hyundai I 20 a hatchback but the driving experience is not less than a sedan for sure. The boot space in the back seats gives luxurious seating go through a comfortable journey.
The luggage compartment in back can easily accommodate up to 2 large suitcases and additional luggage on top of it unless some one wants to fill up the trunk with 1200 watts sub woofers and amplifiers under their seats, which obviously would give a completely different feel to the car.
Hyundai I 20 may seem a little over priced to a few people but when it is compared to other cars, it definitely gives you the value for money. The price range is approximately Rs 5,30,000 and the top end is around 6,40,000.
